So a week of scary fun commences, but what can you do with little ones that is fun but not too frightening...
Edinburgh Royal Botanical Gardens has a Halloween trail, which is great fun for little ones. Pick up a map for £1.00 at the East Gate and follow the clues to claim your witchy prize at the end, all this week until Sunday.
If you're after something a little more ... well alcoholic, new kid on the block El Toro Loco is holding a family day of the dead event, this Saturday from 10 - 5. There will be loads of free activities for kids including painting their own day of the dead face masks and a chance for parents to sample some food and cocktails. There will be loads of other free actitivites as well as a £10.00 food vouchers for those turning up in fancy dress.
has a special Steam n Scream event for children this Saturday and Sunday. With decorated coaches, spooky fun and suprises along the way, enter the guess the spook competition, and prizes for best costumes! £10.00 for adults, £6.00 per child and under 5s FREE! Check the website for details.
Closer to the city, Barony Community Garden just off Broughton street are having a childrens Halloween party - weather permitting, with prizes for best costumes and pumpkin carving ( Bring your own pumpkin)
So that's all the hard work done, now you just have to get going on that costume !!!
