Street Food Saturday!

It's a Friday night ... and most people are either at the pub, still at work or like the hoardes of us with little dudes or dudettes, you're home already in your pjs trying to sort out dinner whilst getting little people in their pjs with minimal tears - from both you and them! Absolutely knackered and wondering what are you going to do this weekend that is both child friendly / involves alcohol / is relatively cheap / and doesnt make you want to repeatedly smash your face into a brick wall!

Well, you probably won't be hitting any dance floors at 3am, but there is definetly some cool stuff to do in Edinburgh this weekend!

Top pick is The Pitt street food extravaganza happening tomorrow and Sunday in Leith at 125 Pitt Street - with my personal favourite Jones & Sons - With their world famous pulled pork rolls and unbelievable burgers! If you are ever going to eat pulled pork, than this is the pulled pork you want - with homemade chilli jam and coleslaw - the Pitt is worth going to just for this. However, if burgers and a good pork aren't your thing there is also the amazingness that is Barnacles & Bones, Babu Bombay Street Kitchen, Lovecrumbs for all your cakey needs and many more! It kicks off at 12:00pm tomorrow and runs till 1030pm ! And the best bit, little dudes / dudettes are welcome till 8pm!

If after all that food you need some retail therapy Ocean Terminal is celebrating the grand opening of their new huge H & M store, with help in the fashion form of the Wardrobe Doctor to help with all your fashion needs all weekend. More street food, appearances all day with the dance troupe Twisted Perfection and 2 different choirs urging you to break into song.

If Sci Fi is more your thing, you could always check out CapitalSciFiCon this Saturday and Sunday raising money for childrens charities at Meadowbank Arena - all presales are now closed but you can buy tickets on the door - doors open from 10:30 and the best news! Under 5s are free!

But if your more of a night owl why not check out the latest light installation "Keyframes" in St Andrew Square. 80 light installations in the form of stick figures which coordinate with music and create an illusion of movement. Stunning. So whether its a bit of food and alcoholic sustanance your after, art, shopping, dance or sci fi - Edinburgh has it covered this weekend..
