2016 ...Are you PUMPED?

The first Monday of 2016 - the decorations are down, its cold, your back to work, your fatter than you were in 2015 and well your broke and you only got paid a week ago...

It's the same every year, is this why come January 1st we make a long list of things that we hope will make the coming year more amazing than the last! We decide to join a gym, eat better, go on holiday more, get a better job, be thinner, have better clothes, the list goes on....

Of course I am a sucker for a list, but this year I'm making my goals a lot more achieveable and realistic, small steps are the starting points for big changes ... So I'm not joining a gym this year ( way too broke ) but I have made a list of things I want to try and do more of. So here goes...

1. Revist my LOVE of peanut butter ! It's not all bad, and it always seems to be on lists of eating better - breakfast peanut butter on toast! I just have to possibly watch the butter I slap on first!

2. I am NOT I REPEAT NOT GOING TO EAT CLEAN!!!!! I hate fads I dont have a spiralizer, I don't have a juicer, the thought of eating Kale makes me feel a bit bored and ill. What I am going to continue doing is cooking from scratch every day with veg, meat and carbs oh yes CARBS! I am going to try and cut down a little on sugar... I say a little, because this is achieveable and its January, I am not giving up everything I love and quite frankly its ok to have a bag of Malteasers, as long as your not having them 3 times a day every day!

3. Become more active, the cost of childcare is extortionate in Scotland! I love my dudes nursery, the staff are amazing, supportive, caring, energetic and brilliant and I doubt they get paid enough, the amount they have taught my dude is amazing and as he goes off to school this year I know he will be well equiped because of them. I am lucky I have chosen well, however, my finances have not fared as well and they will be happy to see August this year. Which means the gym is sadly not an option for me, however, walking further, going to the park more often and playing for longer with the football is an option, which Im going to choose.

4.Speaking of money FINANCES ! EEEK! I am going to try and be more aware of my accounts and cards this year, and not ever be scared to open my internet banking ! ( ok I will still be scared but Im going to face it a lot more this year and try to take control.)

5.Switch off the tv and READ more ! BBG Book Group was started two years ago now as a new years resolution to read more. However, with kids and cancellations not a lot of the meet ups were made.. This year I'm going to read books not on our list - the ones piling up on my bookshelf ! As well as continuing our book list and meet ups, oh and drinking more vodka. Vodka is important.

6.Blogging! I've just not made the time in the past few months and if i want to continue with my professional goals this year, BBG needs to be a big part of that. I also want to make BBG a little more interactive this year.

7. How the HELL have I gotten to 7 already! I have a big project coming up this year, Im in the process of sorting out my home office ( a tiny little alcove in the corner of the room with a desk, files and other office stuff ) and I need to be in the right frame of mind and posses the energy to pull it all off with plenty of study time and enthusiasm... Which is going to be a pretty big challenge with working part time, being a mama, being a rep for a fantastic skin care brand and my charity work.... Come to think of it, how am I going to find any time to READ ???? Lucky I didn't join that gym!
